Post Purpose and Disclaimer

This post is NOT about deriding Adobe Premiere Pro or its users. The purpose of this post is to 1) promote engagement within the Adobe Premiere Pro community, 2) raise awareness of CC 2015.1 bugs, existing and fixed, and 3) inject a little lightheartedness into the discussion. The following scores are based on a cross-section of Premiere Pro user Tweets following the release of CC 2015.1. This is not a comprehensive or scientific study. The scoring is totally arbitrary and, to quote Whose Line Is It Anyway, "...the points don't matter. That's right, the points are just like tasteful shoes to Ryan Stiles."

The Positive

Needs Improvement

New Project Format

SCORE: 5/10
Users are never going to feel comfortable updating their project files. But it's a necessary inconvenience.

Support for Mac OS X El Capitan

Score 7/10
The wait was long, but Mac OS X is now officially supported.

Optical Flow

Score 9/10
When used appropriately, it's magic. Still requires babysiting. But that's not new to video editors.

H.265

Score 10/10
Bigger. Better. Faster. Sounds good.

Publish to Facebook

Score 9/10
It does what it says. Publish to Facebook Pages would be nice.

Stacked Panel Group

Score 9/10
Fine. It's not a 10/10. But this is pretty freaking awesome even if you can't group panel stacks.

New Trim Preference

Score 9/10
Guess it can't be argued that it should have a keyboard shortcut. What would you even call it?

New Workspaces (Titles & All Panels)

Score 2/10
Love the new workspaces. Wish they were available at install. Here's the fix to restore Premiere Pro workspaces.

Hide Application Title Bar

Score 10/10
It just goes to show how valuable a little extra screen space can mean to users.

Lens Distortion Presets

NOTE: This Tweet refers to the Lens Distortion effect and not directly to the presets.
Score 8/10
Presets are always a plus. It would be sweet to add this effect and not get the red bar in the timeline.

Adobe Audition Remix

Score 10/10
Don't even care what the limitations are. This rules.

The best part is we, the Premiere Pro user community, helped create it.
